Specialist Allied Health for NSW Schools

NSW Government Education logo with red waratah flower.

Impact Family Services works alongside NSW schools to support students with disability, developmental delays, trauma, learning differences, and behaviours of concern.

We are approved under the NSW Department of Education Specialist Allied Health and Behaviour Support Provider Scheme, allowing schools to access support from pre-qualified allied health and behaviour support professionals.

Our work is grounded in a simple belief - behaviour is communication.

When a student is struggling, we help schools look beyond the behaviour to understand what the child may be communicating, what support they need, and how the school environment can help them feel safe, included, and ready to learn.

How Do We Provide Our Services?

We provide flexible support that can be tailored to your school, students, and staff.

This may include:

  • behaviour observations and assessments
  • positive behaviour support planning
  • practical classroom strategies
  • staff consultation and coaching
  • support with emotional regulation, transitions, and engagement
  • professional development for teachers and school teams
  • individual, small group, classroom, or whole-school support

Our approach

We work in a way that is:

  • student-centred
  • trauma-informed
  • neuroaffirming
  • strength-based
  • practical for schools
  • respectful of families, teachers, and the student’s voice

Our goal is not to “fix” children. It is to help the adults around them better understand, support, and respond to their needs.

For some students, the right support can make a meaningful difference — helping them stay connected to learning, reduce distress, and feel that they belong at school.

Flexible support for your school

Support can be provided as a one-off consultation, regular visits across the term, staff training, classroom support, or an ongoing program.

We currently support schools across the Sydney metro area and work closely with school teams to provide practical, thoughtful support that fits the needs of each school community.
