A key worker is typically an early childhood professional.
Your key worker could be a speech pathologist, early childhood teacher, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker or psychologist.
Key workers know about child development, positive behaviour support and effective parenting strategies, as well as their own professional background knowledge.
Your key worker wears two hats - an early childhood professional hat and a key worker hat.
Your key worker will work closely with you and the other professionals on your team.
Your team could include professionals from the same or different services. Your team will share information and ideas to support your child and family. Your key worker could come from any service you engage with. Your key worker has the skills and experience of your whole team behind them.
