Behaviour Support Practitioner. Independent contractor

Part time or Full time hours.

Locations: NSW and QLD

NSW: Campbelltown, Bankstown, Blacktown and Wollongong.

QLD: Brisbane and Gold Coast

Role Overview.


Your responsibilities will include.


  • Conducting functional behaviour assessments.
  • Developing positive behaviour support plans.
  • Training staff and carers in behaviour management strategies.
  • Providing one-on-one support to children or adults.
  • Evaluating and monitoring plan implementation.
  • Addressing barriers to plan implementation.
  • Monitoring the use of restrictive practices.


Selection Criteria.


  • Studying towards or completed Tertiary qualification in an allied health-related field (e.g., occupational therapy, psychology, behavioural sciences).
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality written reports.
  • WWC Check or Blue Card
  • Police Check
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check


Requirements for independent contractors.


  • ABN (Australian Business Number), 
  • Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance.
  • Personal laptop and phone.


Desired Skills.

  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Previous experience providing evidence-based behaviour support services in the disability services sector.
  • Understanding of restrictive practice legislation and the authorisation process.
  • Can do attitude
  • Open to feedback and learning
  • You’re passionate about improving people's quality of life, independence, autonomy and choice.
